Has A Painful Experience In Your Past Left An Indelible Mark On Your Life?

Is trauma or PTSD affecting your life so profoundly that weekly therapy sessions just aren’t producing the relief you need? Do you often struggle with:

    • Anxiety, depression, irritability, mood swings, or anger issues?

    • Nightmares, insomnia, fatigue, headaches, or muscle tension?

    • Hypervigilance, emotional numbness, flashbacks, or intrusive thoughts?

Perhaps you generally feel unsafe and isolate yourself out of fear, self-preservation, or a desire to spare others from your symptoms.

Or maybe you’re thinking that it’s time to connect with someone who can help you resolve deep-seated trust issues that prevent you from forming or maintaining healthy relationships.

Trauma And PTSD Can Take A Toll On Every Aspect Of Life

Although you do your best to put on a good face, it probably feels like there’s an endless battle raging within. You may have trouble focusing or staying on top of things, which affects your work performance, self-care, and daily tasks.

Being in a perpetual state of hyperarousal, you likely find yourself constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop, so you can never really relax and just enjoy the moment. You may avoid social situations or activities that trigger painful memories and emotions, which leaves you feeling alone and disconnected.

On top of all that, you’re likely so worried about being judged that you withdraw from others—even those who could help you navigate your pain—but that’s what we are here for. At Rise Up, our trauma/PTSD specialists want to help you rebuild your sense of safety, self-compassion, and trust so you can finally start living again instead of merely surviving.

For Many, Trauma And PTSD Are Only The Beginning Of Their Struggles

Numerous factors can significantly contribute to trauma-related issues. For instance, the social and cultural expectation to appear strong or resilient can suppress emotional expression, exacerbating trauma symptoms.

Media portrayals of trauma and violence as well as unrealistic standards of success can complicate past trauma or worsen its impact. Even systemic inequalities, such as racism, anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric, and economic disparity, can compound people’s pain and hinder recovery, so it’s no wonder so many individuals struggle to overcome trauma on their own.

Why Is Therapy Such An Important Part Of Trauma Recovery?

Without professional support, most people struggle to overcome trauma on their own due to a combination of personal, cultural, and social factors. For instance, a latent cultural stigma surrounding mental health or the nature of one’s trauma discourages many individuals from seeking counseling, which makes recovery even more complex.

On a social level, the lack of support systems or feelings of guilt or shame force people to cope with trauma in isolation. Many individuals are simply unaware of the underlying causes of their symptoms, so they try to manage surface-level effects, like anxiety and depression, without addressing their root cause.

All of these factors can make people feel lost, alone, and afraid—but there are those who care and can help. Through our intensive outpatient counseling program at Rising Up, it is possible to take control of your trauma/PTSD while learning how to reconnect with yourself, the people you love, and life itself.

Discover A Dedicated, Holistic Alternative To Traditional Trauma Therapy

Sometimes, trauma and emotional wounding are so complex that they require a higher level of care than weekly therapy sessions can provide. At Rising Up, we created our IOP for trauma and PTSD with that need in mind. We’re proud to offer comprehensive care that affords our clients more time for guidance, skills-building, and peer support than weekly trauma/PTSD treatment sessions.

Whether you’re navigating a recent crisis, struggling with long-term symptoms, or searching for a more structured approach to healing, we’ve got you covered. Our IOP for trauma and PTSD can even accommodate group and sometimes family therapy sessions. It also provides you with education, coping tools, and accountability strategies to help you make progress faster and more effectively.

Want To Know More About How Trauma/PTSD Therapy Works?

In ongoing trauma-focused therapy sessions, we’ll concentrate on helping you identify the core issues of trauma and how your experience affects your emotional, physical, and social well-being.

Together, we’ll explore your thought patterns, emotional responses, and coping mechanisms, often using evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT for Trauma/PTSD) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT for Trauma/PTSD). These tools are designed to help you understand and reframe how you react to painful thoughts, emotions, memories, and reminders.

In the long term, we’ll collaborate with you to set meaningful goals while continuing to enhance emotional regulation skills, build new coping strategies, and address core issues. Throughout the treatment process, we’ll conduct regular assessments to ensure that you’re progressing toward healing and feeling empowered enough to manage trauma/PTSD symptoms independently.

A Few Of The Tools We Use In Trauma Therapy

In our trauma-focused IOP sessions, we’ll equip you with a range of tangible skills and strategies to help you heal and manage symptoms. Oftentimes, we’ll integrate:

  • Trauma-Focused Meditation and Mindfulness Techniques to help you stay present and reduce stress, including grounding exercises that calm the nervous system during moments of anxiety or overwhelm.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR for Therapy) for processing and integrating traumatic memories into your life in such a way that they’re no longer triggering.

  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT therapy for Trauma) to help you address emotional blocks.

  • Breathwork and Yoga for promoting relaxation and improving body awareness.

  • DBT and CBT skills for improving emotional regulation and teaching you how to reframe negative feelings, thought patterns, and beliefs related to trauma.

By blending these approaches, you can finally process your trauma, reduce its impact, and learn new ways to manage stress, difficult emotions, and painful triggers. Working in a safe, supportive environment, you can feel empowered to reclaim control over your life and move toward long-term healing.

Still Have Questions Or Concerns About IOP Trauma/PTSD Treatment…

I’ve been in pain so long. Can trauma therapy really make a difference?

Remember, healing takes time, but with the right guidance, progress is absolutely possible. Our IOPs give you the time and space to process your trauma, regulate your emotions, and learn new skills at your own pace.

Although each person is different, we can tell you that with ongoing support and tools like mindfulness, EMDR, and breathwork, you’ll gradually feel more grounded and in control. As you continue, you'll gain confidence, reduce anxiety, and build emotional resilience that will follow you for a lifetime.

Will I have to take medication to get better?

Though our trauma therapists at Rising Up don’t prescribe medication, your well-being is our top priority. So if you’re interested in pharmaceutical support, we will work closely with your current doctor to ensure coordinated care.

That said, we’re confident that our holistic approach to trauma and PTSD treatment can help you regulate emotions, build resilience, and overcome even the most problematic experiences with trauma—with or without medication.

I worry I’ll be judged by my trauma/PTSD counselor like I was in the past.

We understand that past therapy experiences can be difficult, but we're here to create a safe, non-biased environment where you can truly feel validated and supported. Our team is committed to listening without judgment and building trust over time.

We’ll focus on your unique needs and work with you to ensure you feel comfortable and respected throughout the process. Healing is possible, and we're here to support you every step of the way while, in turn, helping you rebuild confidence in the therapeutic process.
