Dr. Jessee Valentine, DO

Medical Director

Dr. Jessee Valentine is a double board-certified adult, child, and adolescent psychiatrist with extensive experience in intensive outpatient (IOP), partial hospitalization (PHP), outpatient, and community mental health programs. He completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine Child Study Center.

Throughout his career, Dr. Valentine has demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based mental health care. He has provided psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults across various levels of care. In addition to his clinical work, he has served as a mentor for early-career psychiatrists and as a clinical supervisor for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and therapists. 

Dr. Valentine has taught medical students and psychiatry residents topics in both psychopharmacology and child and adolescent psychiatry. He has also provided psychiatric care to community mental health clinics and underserved populations, reflecting his dedication to increasing access to quality behavioral health services. In addition to his leadership role at Rising Up, he maintains a private practice serving patients in Pennsylvania, New York, and Massachusetts.

His academic work has been published in the Journal of College Student Retention: Research, Theory & Practice, and he remains an active member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Valentine integrates a humanistic and collaborative approach into his leadership and clinical practice, with professional interests that include child and adolescent development; mood, anxiety, and trauma disorders; the interplay of biological and environmental factors in mental health; and supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
